A great day to get much done!

My day began at 7am and the work was non-stop until just after 6pm.  In that time, trim was added on the top edge of each long wall, under the rake eaves to fill the gaps, two window openings were cut, framed, installed and painted and wood caps were added to the end of the rakes to cover the holes.

This coming Tuesday the aluminum fascia cladding will be ready for pick up and plans call for me to install them on Wednesday.  At that point, save some more caulking and another coat of paint, which will happen on the next clear day with warm sunlight, the exterior of the "Shed Mahal" will be done!

I'm looking forward to this day because at that point I can turn my attention to the Banner camper's needs which include a new roof and closure of wall portals left behind when the refrigerator and furnace were removed.  This work can and will be done at home in my driveway which is a relief I'm looking forward too!

Thanks for keeping up with the blog and encouraging me with your words and emails.  I've needed it.  It has been a long and laborious journey.  This was a challenge that took a lot out of me, but I made it.  What I've been able to construct alone and with the help of others here and there along the way is quite impressive.  The days where we can travel to camp and only worry about a little yard work and cleaning are fast approaching and I can't wait until the fun times, camping and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends, begin.

Eave, Rake and Corner Trim Installed & Painted!

I followed my usual timeline Saturday evening and left shortly after work with the Mountaineer fully loaded with tools and the hitch hauler towing Adam's generator.  In 2.25 hours I was at camp dropping off the generator and heading back down the mountain toward the not-so-local tavern for prime rib.  I enjoy the fact that I can call ahead, place an order after the kitchen is closed, waltz in, grab a seat the bar and not have to say another word.  And in matter of minutes, I'm swigging an ice cold yuengling, munching on a salad and sour dough bread and preparing to devour an awesome slab of prime rib.  The meal was fantastic as usual.  Once I was done, I was done...  Fast forward to camp and the perfect temperature to take a long snooze.  At 11PM, I was out.  At 7:00AM, I was up and ready for breakfast, more specifically----COFFEE!  By 8AM, I was busy working on the Shed Mahal.  I worked all day, endlessly, without much a break.  Mother Nature was kind and held off rain until I was done for the day and everything was packed away.  I did experience a few minutes of light drizzle / cloud misting and for a second I could swear it even started to snow a little...but the major stuff held off until after I left.  With 6 inches of snow predicted to fall, I'm sure the weather isn't so kind @ camp right now!

One step closer to being finished on the exterior....Entrance landing framing completed and the third wall has been painted.  This Wednesday I will install the deck boards, finishing the framing to the ramp, paint the final wall and then give the ramp a deck board + 2" X 2" + deck board pattern to prevent sliding.

That's all for now!
